THANK YOU FOR
VISITING Us!

Thank you for your interest in our fellowship. When you visit Springhill you’ll find a dynamic ministry made of people from varied races, backgrounds, and ages. We are a loving group of people working together to experience God in new ways continually.

The Springhill Church is an exciting and vibrant community church in the heart of Gainesville, FL. Serving God since 1886 has made her mainstay in the community. Encompassing a membership of more than 800 parishioners, this fellowship represents a healthy cross-section of the greater Alachua County region.

Church members represent the medical, professional services, public utilities, construction, government, law enforcement, and various other industries. Additionally, all age groups are well represented in this intergenerational church. It is common to find an intermingling of seniors, middle-aged, young adults, youth and children each Sunday. Springhill is a Bible believing, preaching, teaching, and practicing church.

Springhill envisions being a fellowship of bible-believing disciples, who demonstrate love for Jesus, each other, and those who need supportive care.

What We Believe

We believe there is only one true and living God. He is immutable, indefatigable and infinite. He is not only a reality; He is the Ultimate Reality, an intelligent Spirit, and the Creator of all. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-3, 26; Matthew 3:16,17; John 1:1,14, 10:30, 14:26, 15:26; Matthew 28:19).

We believe Jesus is Savior, Lord Christ, and the incarnate reality of God. He was the walking revelation of God’s love to humanity; He embodied grace; He died on the cross for the redemption of God’s creation; He got up on Easter morning to confirm to the world that God is still in control of Heaven and Earth. (Luke 1:26-33, 22:20, 24:46).

We believe in the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit is Christ in present tense empowering the believer, energizing the church and encouraging Christians that God is still with us; He convicts us of sin; He points us to truth; He leads us into righteousness. (John 16:1-13; Acts 5:3-4; Titus 3:5; Matthew 3:11; Ephesians 1:13-14; I Corinthians 12:1-11).

We believe in the church; the church is the prolonged incarnation of Jesus Christ; His body, bride and building— witnessing to the world through word and sacrament; the church is a fellowship of regenerated men and women called out to live together in community life. (Ephesians 1 :22-23; 5:24-25; Colossians 1: 18) (Matthew 16:18-19, 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:1-8, Romans 12:4-8, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 4:1-6, Acts 6:1-6, 1 Timothy 3:1-10, Titus 1:5-9).

We believe that the scripture is God’s word; It is his written authority for the Church; the scripture was given to ordinary men through inspiration; the scripture is inerrant in principle and infallible in content. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12).

We believe man was created in the image of God; God breathed his life into man; man voluntarily rebelled against God and fell from a state of perfection, thereby experiencing separation from God; consequently, all men are sinners. By choice, man is redeemable through Jesus Christ in his only hope to experience once again the peace of God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 5:12, 8:18-23).

We believe in God’s saving grace; that the blessings of salvation are free to all through the Gospel; that the requisite of acceptance is a thankful, penitent and obedient faith; that nothing interferes with the salvation of the sinner except his refusal of the Gospel; man’s disbelief is his condemnation. (Ephesians 1:7; Romans 10:9-10, 5:7-11; Colossians 1:13-14, 21-22; John 17:16-22; II Corinthians 5:17; I Corinthians 6:19) (John 3:16, 10:27-29, 14:16-17, 26; Ephesians 1:13; 2:8-9; Philippians 1:6; I Peter 1:5; Jude 24-25.

We believe that justification is being brought into a right relationship with God; His position is accomplished without consideration of good works (of righteousness); that justification is the pardoning of sin, the gift of eternal life displays God’s love for human-kind, and that by faith in the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ was His righteousness given to us. (John 1:16; Ephesians 3:8; Isaiah 53:11-12; Acts 13:30; Romans 8:1; Zechariah 13:1; Matthew 9:6; Acts 10:43; Romans 5:9; Romans 5:17, 21; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Peter 3:7; 1 John 2:25; Romans 4:4-5, 5:21, 6:25; Philippians 3:7-9; Romans 3:24-26, 4:23-25, 5:19; 1 John 2:12; Matthew 6:33; Romans 5:1-3, 11; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 1 Timothy 4:8).

We believe baptism is an ocular demonstration of God’s inward renewal in the life of the believer; in baptism our names are changed. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we are placed under the authority of God’s power and protection. It is the symbol of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection to a new life. It is a prerequisite to the privileges of the church in relation to the Lord’s Supper. Jesus Christ took bread and wine established them as the imperishable symbols of the church. The Lord’s table is open to all people in the faith who desire to fellowship with Him. (Romans 6:4) (Matthew 26:17-30, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34).
